Brabejum stellatifolium Van Riebeeck's almond hedge. Protea with whorls of leaves and 'almonds'. Large, spreading multi-stemmed shrub to 5 m. Near streams and in sheltered valleys (also Kirstenbosch) Must be well watered for the first 2 years. Scented flowers Dec-Jan. Attracts insects, then birds.

Replant square pot. (Standard Iceberg out, soil was sodden)

Seven weeks fern, Plectranthus shrub, large scented Pelargonium, stoep jacaranda, large Asparagus fern, ivy on wall, arum lilies and Agapanthus, Coprosma Marble chips - all inherited and left in peace to grow. Oxalis inherited in pot.
